

Barron moved to Brentwood, Tennessee in 1995, taking his love of all things UK sports with him. He attended Brentwood High School, playing baseball and graduating with the class of 1999. His love for baseball, and pitching in particular, grew even more during his time with the University of Kentucky baseball program, graduating with Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration in 2003.
Barron continued pursuing his love and passion for the game of baseball throughout his entire life. He coached countless teams and young men in his 25 year coaching career, leaving a permanent stamp on so many young hearts and minds. His passion for coaching and the game was truly something to witness. The impact he had on so many can never be forgotten.
What a truly amazing dad, husband, son, brother, and coach he was.
Barron is survived by his wife, Kimberly Vallett Mathis, and children, Kylee, Griffin, and Nolan. He is also survived by his mother and siblings, Walter Mathis Jr., Dejuan Miller, Brent Mathis (Lesley), Patti Columbia (Paul), Kenny Mathis (Carey), and Matthew Mathis.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14 from 12:00-2:00 PM CT with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00 PM CT in the Tulip Grove Room at Hermitage Funeral Home.
