Dr. Omohundro was born in Donelson, TN on December 3, 1948 to Frances Nelson and John Moten Omohundro, Jr. Upon Graduating the University of Tennessee Dental School, he commenced his practice of 46 years in his beloved Donelson community.
Affectionately called “Hondo” by his friends and “Bear” by his wife and grandchildren, he was fiercely loyal to those he loved. A symbol of selfless humility that succeeded beyond measure by impacting the lives of so many. His fondness for storytelling made him an easy companion. A constant source of joy and contentment came from golfing, fishing and playing tennis with friends.
Dr. Omohundro is survived by his wife Laurel; daughters Ashley Coe and Rachael McClendon; Laurel’s children Will Staggs (Mary Lynn) and Ellen Joiner (Greg); his grandchildren Sydney, Emery & Ward Coe; Hayes, Woods & John Thomas McClendon; Tristan, Sophie & Lulu Staggs; Jozy & Riser Joiner; brother Bill Omohundro ( Lissa); sister Suzanne Cantrell (Dr. Jim). He is preceded by death by his parents and brother, Dr. John Omohundro, III.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 28 at The Donelson Fellowship from 1pm - 3pm. Service to follow.
