

Bernard Lyles “Bernie” Holladay, 82, of Hermitage TN, passed away on November 12, 2023, in Nashville. He grew up in Oklahoma City OK. He proudly served in the US Navy and attended the University of NC. He worked almost 50 years in the computer industry for GE, Honeywell Information Systems, and their follow-on companies, where he worked in hardware field engineering and as a software engineer in software development and support, specializing in system performance tuning. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching, observing the weather, watching NASCAR, and fixing anything that was broken. Kind and generous, he was always willing to help others at the drop of a hat. He was a member of Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church in Glendale AZ, where he and his wife Ann lived for many years. In Tennessee, he attended Hermitage United Methodist Church and was part of his beloved Bible study group at Providence Church of Mt. Juliet. He was also a member of the TN Ornithological Society and a 15-year volunteer for CoCoRaHS, whose weather observations are used by the National Weather Service and others.
He was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Lelia Holladay and nephew Alex Hendrix.
Survived by wife Ann Hendrix Holladay of Hermitage; son Ben Holladay of AZ; sister Sharon Kyle of Oklahoma City; nephews, Jeff Kyle and wife Tejashri and their daughter Riya of Austin TX, Danny Kyle and wife April and son Garrett of Oklahoma City, and Zach Hendrix of Nashville; brother-in-law David Hendrix and wife Joni of Pensacola FL; and a number of cousins.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, March 16, 2024, at Hermitage United Methodist Church, with a service following at 2:00 pm.
