Betty was a devout Christian and a member of Eastland Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, spending most of her days caring for her husband and children. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and reaping the benefits of her fruits. She loved taking "Girl" trips with her daughters.
Mrs. Uhles is preceded in death by the love of her life, Franklin Russell Uhles, Sr. They celebrated 42 years of marriage before he fell ill and passed away at the young age of 63.
As heart-broken as she was, she overcame that grief while being surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, and her church family.
Mrs. Uhles was also preceded by her parents, Minnie Hunt and Arthur Taylor Hunt, along with two precious granddaughters, Lea Tyann Cornish and Brandy Rose Boles, and her devoted son-in-law, Charles Cornish.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Cornish, Jackie Yates, Donetia Reid (Jimmy), Lisa Sullins (Danny Binkley), Laura Totty (Todd), Franklin Russell Uhles, Jr. (Michelle), and William Arthur Uhles (Kellye). She was blessed with eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Sunday, August 28, 2022, from 11am until 2pm. A Celebration of Life will follow in the Tulip Grove Room of the funeral home at 2pm. Following the service, Mrs. Uhles will be laid to rest in the Garden of Peace at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
