

Beverly South Mills was born on July 24, 1935, in Nashville, TN, and passed away on August 12, 2021, in Mt. Juliet, TN at her home. Beverly was the oldest daughter of Jesse and Mildred South. Beverly grew up in Nashville and was a Cumberland High School graduate where she was a cheerleader and was crowned Miss Cumberland, and where she met the love of her life, Ernest Mills. They were married for 66 years.
Beverly raised three children, Karen, Steve, and Paul. She is survived by her sister, Dianne Hunter, her brother-in-law, Mel Hunter, her brother and sister-in-law, James and Sandy South, her three children and their spouses, Karen Mills and Lhoussain Benayad, Steve and Carla Mills, and Paul and Kelly Mills, seven grandchildren, Will Crowthers and his wife Anne, Nicholas Rogers, Landon Mills and his wife Elizabeth, MacKayla Howard and her husband Caleb, Spencer Mills, and Lindsey Mills and one great-grandson, Rowan Mills.
Beverly started her professional career with Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company and thereafter raised her family of three children in Donelson. She then worked as a Metro Nashville School Patrol Mother for many years and then in the office of Dr. James Miller as a receptionist.
She was a faithful member of the congregation of Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church, (Currently, Connection UMC) for over 50 years. She was a member of the Red Hatters Club and enjoyed the company of her friends while playing Bunko. After retirement, she moved to Old Hickory Lake in Mt. Juliet. She enjoyed her plants and ferns, hummingbirds, and her dog, Daisy, and cat, Callie. Beverly’s excitement and love for life will be missed, by her friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Connection United Methodist Church (formerly Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church) on Lebanon Pike.
