She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mike Byrd, daughters Brandy (Coda) Byrd, Mercy (Nate) James, grandsons Reece and Parker James, siblings Vicki (Clarance) Wilkins and Sherri (Bobby) Goins and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents Ed and Hilda Truett.
In the summer, you would find Brenda and Mike, along with their beloved dog and unarguably favorite child Roxie, in their boat, Gypsy Aloysius, on the river.
Another great joy was hosting family and friends in their backyard. Laughter, music and sometimes even an arsenal of fireworks would carry on into the morning hours. In the winter, an antsy Brenda kept herself busy with many creative projects by making gifts for family and friends.
