Dannie Kay Webster of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away on August 19, 2025. Born on March 30, 1949, to Wilburn Daniel Webster and Nola Maude Deckard Webster, Dannie was a loving, kind, and funny man who never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, Dannie was predeceased by his brother, Randall Arvil Webster. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Jane Dillard Webster, and his two sons, Jamie Kay Webster and Jason Ryan Webster (Jennifer). He is also survived by three brothers, Windle Arlen Webster Sr. of Lebanon, TN, Jerry Ray Webster (Judy) of Lebanon, TN, and Kenneth Fay Webster (Peggy) of Spring Hill, FL. He leaves behind six adoring grandchildren, Hunter Bryce Bryant (Savannah) of Maryville, TN, Rylan Nole Webster of Jefferson City, TN, and Boston Ryan Webster, Oakley Michelle Webster, Easton McCoy Webster, and Madden David Webster of Mt. Juliet, TN. Additionally, he is survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Raised in Old Hickory, TN, Dannie was a proud graduate of the Dupont High School class of 1967. He was the youngest of five boys, growing up with a love for sports — especially football and baseball, where he proudly played catcher. His interest in cars came naturally, sparked by his older brothers’ enthusiasm for racing. That passion eventually led to a career at Beaman Pontiac and later as a used car salesman, where he was known for his friendly nature and love of talking shop.
He loved attending races and car shows with family and friends. He especially enjoyed attending the week of festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, always returning home just in time to catch the big race from the comfort of his own couch.
Even after his sons graduated, he remained dedicated to Mt. Juliet High School football, serving on the "chain gang" for many years — a role he took great pride in.
Upon retirement, he stepped into what he considered his favorite role: “Papi.” Whether related by blood or simply by love, many children knew him by that name. He especially enjoyed driving the van for the Rockstar Academy of Dance after-school program, where he became a beloved figure among the kids. He rarely missed a ball game or performance if his grandchildren were involved and found immense joy in being a part of their lives.
He was a man who gave his whole heart to family, friendship, and community — and he was, truly, the best.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, August 21, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and on Friday, August 22, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Hermitage Funeral Home, with service to follow at 1:00 pm in the chapel. A graveside service will be held after the funeral at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
