Dolores S. Taylor

Mrs. Taylor was born on December 3, 1937, in Denver, Tennessee, to the late Dorris and Maggie Ferguson Sutton. She worked as a manager in repair service for Bell South for over 35 years. She also was a member of the AT&T Pioneers. She was happily married to Mr. Harold D. Taylor for 60 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and being around her grandchildren who affectionately called her, “Gandee.” In the wintertime, she and Mr. Taylor would travel to Florida where they would become snowbirds until the spring. She had a servant’s heart and devoted her time to helping others. She was a member of Mount Juliet Church of Christ, and for many years she was a Sunday School Teacher at Old Hickory and Hermitage Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, George Wesley Sutton, and her sister-in-law, Maxine Sutton.

She is survived by one son, Troy Taylor and his wife, Lori; one daughter, Vicki Kinkade and her husband, Scott; four grandchildren, Josh Taylor, Jenna Taylor, Chandin Kinkade and Conner Kinkade, and one great granddaughter, Aubrey Taylor.

The family will receive friends at Hermitage Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening, and on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from eleven-thirty in the morning until the time of service at one o’clock.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at one o’clock in the afternoon.

Entombment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
