Donald Louis Jost

Donald Louis Jost, age 78, of Hermitage, Tennessee passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022. Donald was born November 9, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to Lillian and Kenneth Jost. His family moved to Nashville when he was three years old. He proudly graduated from East High School and Vanderbilt University. After graduating from Vanderbilt he married Sandra and they embarked on wonderful life journey. For seven years they lived in ten different place, including Italy, before returning to Nashville. He worked in the construction industry for more than fifty years and enjoyed imparting his knowledge and wisdom on younger generations of friends, family and co- workers in sometimes very long involved stories. He was a long time member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church. Golf and traveling were two of his favorite things, but most of all he loved his family. They were what gave him joy. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Geraldine Jost. Those he leaves behind to mourn and celebrate his life are his wife Sandra; children Michelle(Jeff) & Lynne Jost; grandchildren Daniel Turner(Shelby), Caitlin & Maya Bender; great-grandchildren Easton and Everlee Turner; beloved sisters-in-law Patricia Cooper & Mildred Cole; brother Ken Jost and extended “adopted family” and friends including Diane Thurston.

A gathering of family and friends for Donald will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 12:00 PM, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138. His final resting place will be at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, Old Hickory, TN.
