Mama it's been over a year since you so gracefully escaped the illness that consumed you. Your strength, positivity
In front of family when you felt your worst, your ongoing concern for those other than you......still while being attacked with what most would have given up on so much sooner than you....completely changed my life. While it was so selfish to not wanna lose you, God needed you most. It's still so hard and Ive yet to reckon completely that you physically left this earth. While you were fighting so hard each day, I wondered how I would cope. I am so fortunate to have been blessed with your granddaughter, Lyric. So blessed you came to know her and she know you. She points at pictures of you every day. Through her, I get to see you and feel your spirit. I've learned it's not about me not having you, but it's you missing things i say to myself ...."I wish mama could be here for this". I know you would be so proud of Lyric, me being a dad, and Kimberly doing just like you as a mother. 
I know somehow, you are content from afar witnessing it all. And I know there's no place you'd rather be than right here. But I also know you could not be better off. I miss you but am blessed to feel your presence everyday. You left a true legacy and defined dignity and grace, and strength. I'll be Over the hill big 40 in a month. You should know the cubs are going to the World Series. 
And supposedly widespread panic is retiring this year. Lyric saw her first Panic show in which I proposed the same show. Kimberly is wearing the ring I promised you. If you can pull some strings for the cubs up there.....thank you. And Awe what, LOOK, TONY, and Donna's frickin chickin are still alive. Eternal Love. Ain't Life Grand"Ripple in still water"

Words cannot express how much I loved Donna.  She was the dearest friend that I ever had.  I felt like a part of her family.  I will always remember that sweet spunky little girl at Pennington Elementary with the long blonde ponytail.  We   became very close friends in Jr. High at Two Rivers High School and the friendship lasted a lifetime.  I will always remember getting the giggles in class when we were not suppose to be laughing and the fact that she was always there for me whenever I was sad. I will keep these cherished memories in my heart forever. Praying that God will comfort Mike and the entire family.
