Doug W. Raines, a beloved, brave, compassionate, generous, and loyal individual, passed away on September 16, 2021, at the age of 77. Born on July 17, 1944, Doug was a resident of Old Hickory, Tennessee.
Doug graduated from Lebanon High School and went on to have a distinguished career as a Funeral Director, dedicating 60 years to the profession. His commitment to his work was matched by his dedication to his family and community. Doug was married to his loving wife, Ann Raines, and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.
He was the devoted father of Scott Raines (Tonia) and Brad Raines (Ginger), and the late Kelly Raines. Doug was also a proud grandfather to Jessie Raines (Sierra), Halle Raines (Mason), Aidan Raines (Lauren), and Luke Raines. He is survived by his brother, Billy Jo Pickler, and his sister, Delores Crook.
Doug had a passion for family, golf, football, and particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was actively involved in many community outreach programs in Donelson and Hermitage, including the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. His legacy of love for his family and community will be long remembered.
A visitation will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, located at 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138, on September 19, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on September 20, 2021, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Doug will be laid to rest in the Garden of the Apostles.
In the words of Doug himself, "Cain't can't do nothing." His enduring spirit and love for life will continue to inspire all who knew him.
