Mr Douglas Doug James Brewer

BREWER, Douglas James, age 87 of Old Hickory, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Survived by his wife, Clara E. Brewer; children, Linda (Bill) Davis, Ron (Pam) Brewer, Keith (Marcia) Harrison, Pam (Bobby) McCollum and Sue (James) Cash; sister, Juanita (Robert) Laster; brother, Kenneth (Imogene) Brewer; 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Mr. Brewer retired from E.I. DuPont and Old Hickory Credit Union, where he served as Vice President , after a combined 50 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II as a Staff Sergeant. He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion, an Odd Fellow and a Board Member Emeritus of Old Hickory Credit Union. Mr. Brewer was a very loving, generous and thoughtful husband, father and grandfather. He was deeply loved by his family, friends and his community and he will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Alan Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Condolences may be offered at www.hermitagefh.com.
