Evelyn Marie Hicks

Evelyn Marie Hicks, age 96, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. Preceded in death by her husband, James Alton Hicks. Survived by her daughter, Wilma June (Leland) Miller; son, James Edward (Marilyn) Hicks; brothers, Freddie (Alma) Hoover and Lytle (Evelyn) Hoover; grandchildren, Michael Lee (Jackie) Scinta, Julie Marie Scinta, Sherri Miller, Chris (Charity) Hicks, Jamie (Wendy) Hicks and Brian Hicks; great grandchildren, Jessica, Jansen, Nick, McKenzie, Kayla, Colby, Caroline and Jacob. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved her family more than life itself. She brought laughter and joy to all who knew her. She was a member of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church and involved with the Women’s Bible Study Group. She was retired from Bellsouth with 37 years of service. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Noon Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family members will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation with the family 4 – 9 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. – Noon Wednesday.
