Mrs. Proctor attended Joelton High School where she met the love of her life. Her groom-to-be had already left school to work on the form and they planned to wed on her 16th birthday. Plans were almost foiled when the minister had plans to be out-of-town on her birthday, so she married Billie Proctor one day shy of her sixteenth birthday . . . and they have remained loving partners for 72 years.
Mrs. Proctor had to wear many hats as her husband was called to serve in the Korean War. But she wore them all well. Over the years, the Proctors lived life to the fullest and loved getting away to the great outdoors camping. In the early days, they had only a tent with a dirt floor. Soon, there was a tent with a floor covering. The family continued to progress in their camping experiences until they were traveling with and accommodated by a Camper RV. She and her husband were members of the Volunteers Campers Club from 1979 – 2016. During that time she served as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and field director. Mrs. Proctor worked for 11 ½ years at Baptist Hospital, at Spencer Gifts for 7 ½ years, and at Davis & Cook Wholesale Company for 17 ½ years. She retired in 1992 when Mr. Proctor decided to retire.
Mrs. Proctor was loved by so many and she loved a lot. She was a spiritual Mother to just about anyone who needed care, prayer, and guidance. She was a member of the Generation Changers Church in Nashville. She was a wonderful wife and a wonderful mother. She would tell you that her proudest moments in life were when her children were born. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Proctor is predeceased by her father, Charles Bauman Clinard; her mother, Earline (Dallas) Clinard; a son, Richard “Rick” Keith Proctor; a grandson, Jason Keith Proctor; a brother, James Edward Clinard; and a sister, Gloria Faye Clinard.
