

Mr. Colvert moved to Nashville with his family when he was six or seven years old and was raised in East Nashville. He attended Father Ryan High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. Following graduation, Mr. Colvert attended Tennessee Tech but soon began working with his father in the field of construction. Over the years, he worked for the Nashville Bridge Company and was eventually self-employed in ceramic tile and renovation.
Mr. Colvert was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. He was also a history enthusiast and would gladly share facts and stories he would learn. Mr. Colvert was very likeable and people were drawn to him. He enjoyed making conversation with those around him. He was also a devoted father and was always willing to help someone in need. After his father’s passing, he and wife, Louise, welcomed his mother into their home to care for her.
Mr. Colvert is predeceased by his father, Frank Burch Colvert, Sr.; his mother, Nonie Claire (Long) Colvert; and a brother, James Henry Colvert. He is survived by his daughter, DeDe Gibby (John); his son, Burch Colvert; grandsons, Nicholas Gibby, Andrew Gibby (Amanda), and Zachary Gibby; granddaughter, Samantha Colvert; great grandchildren Ezra, Jaxon, and Chloe; and his brother, Michael John Colvert (Elizabeth).
There will be a time of visitation with the family at Church of the Holy Rosary, 192 Graylynn Drive, Nashville, TN, on Friday, April 28, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Following the mass, Mr. Colvert will be inurned at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
