My dear Binkleys, Mom called me last night with this sad news. I remember our Lakewood days so fondly and Randy coming along with us "older" teens. We just don't understand why on this earth but when we come into His presence, our heavenly Father's home, all the pain and sorrow will be gone and we won't need to wonder why anymore. To the Binkley Family,

I was greatly saddened to read of the news of Randy's Passing.  As I read of the news I could only reach back into my memories of all the â€œGREATâ€ times that I was honored to have shared in the Boy Scouts with all of the Binkley men.  I can honestly admit that I am a better man for having known them and to have shared so many good times.  I have always regretted that the Air Force took me and kept me away from the Nashville area.  Having established great friends during my growing years and then required to leave them behind as I got older and raised a family of my own. In times such as this, it hurt me the most of not be afforded the opportunity to pay my respects due to distance. I will always consider Randy a good friend and will miss him greatly.

Please know that I am thinking about the Binkley Family in this difficult time and my Prayers and thoughts are with you deeply.

My sincerest sympathy on the loss of Randy.  As cousins, we didn't see each other much anymore, but I do remember him fondly as a young boy and always thought he was the one more like Fred.  You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers during the days ahead although I won't see you this week since I am in Louisiana with my daughter and her family.

I just can't believe it.  I wish there was something I could say to make the hurt go away.  I am so, so sorry.  I'll always remember our memories while at the pool and the night we all went to Jimmy Kelley's. We'll be thinking of you and praying for you and the kids in the days and weeks ahead.
