

Greear was a graduate of Young High School and of Tennessee Tech University. Following her time at Tech, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. Greear moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, to pursue a career opportunity with Sears in their National Executive Development Program.
In 1970, Greear moved to Memphis, Tennessee where she raised her family and lived for over 40 years in the Cordova area. Greear served the community in many ways. She was a member of The Maternal League of Memphis and held the office of President from 1999-2001. She volunteered for the Shelby County Election Commission, Lebonheur Children’s Hospital, and was very involved in the parent organizations at Lausanne Collegiate School and St. Benedict at Auburndale.
Greear’s friendships spanned decades with her closest friends still being her college roommate, and the original members of her Countrywood Bunko group that began in the early 80’s. She was known for her devotion to her children and grandchildren, always celebrating their accomplishments, and never missing a game, event, or concert.
In 2020, Greear, better known as ‘GeeGee’ to her grandkids, made her way to Nashville to be closer to family. There, she continued to nurture her Memphis and Knoxville friendships, as well as her card playing skills with new friends.
Greear is survived by her children; Lori Trew (Eric Regis) of Nashville, TN and Rebecca Trew Hatcher (Greg) of Pinehurst, NC, beloved grandchildren; Maddye Trew Regis, Steven Franklin Regis and Lillian Greear Hatcher, Also her dear siblings; Melodie Mitchell Wilkey of Nashville, IL and Barry Mitchell (Sandy) of Maryville, TN.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Greear on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in Nashville, TN.
