Harry B. Anderson, Age 89 of Old Hickory, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 66 years, Flo Anderson; daughters, Lorette (Dick) Geyer and Annette (Mark) Cagle; grandsons, Aaron and Chris Geyer; a host of other relatives and close friends.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Old Hickory Church of Christ, Old Hickory Country Club and the Owner of Flexible Metal Products.
Harry B. Anderson was a man's man. A good man in every respect. The kind of guy you would enjoy playing golf with or doing business with.
Harry loved his wife, of 66 years, Flo and his family. He truly enjoyed his two grandsons, Aaron and Chris.
Harry's middle initial "B" really doesn't stand for a middle name. His mother simply gave him a middle initial because the military required one.
Outside of his love of family and business he truly loved golf. He shot in the low 80's and made a couple hole in ones, pretty good for a duffer. As matter of fact, Harry has already played 36 holes and shot par at his present location. And it never rains or snows on this course. Hit it long and straight Harry!
Harry B. Anderson, aka: H, HB Boss this is who we are here to remember and celebrate today.
I came to work for Harry over 30 years ago. I am very blessed to have been able to call him boss.
To me Harry was much more than a boss. He is a man who I gained a great deal of respect for, he taught me how to run a successful business (which is of course Harry’s way). Dick and I have spent many hours as I have tried to teach him Harry’s way.
I have lots of Harry stories that I would love to share but that would take all day. And of course as we all know he would not like that.
A few things that will be remembered is upon a return form from a trip of a week or 3 months he made his way around the shop to speak to every employee. He knew everyone’s name or at least the name he had grown to know you by.
I can still see him dancing with Tony in front of 104 PRESS. The faster it ran the faster Harry’s feet would move.
Shaking his head when he passed Steve in the Tool Room.
He and Al debating on the practicality of us making a piece that would cost $20.00 or him working on making it for 2 days. We all know who won, and the part was made at FMP.
Himself, Flo, Lorette, or Dick calling Michelle because his cell phone wasn’t working AGAIN!
Greeting Sergio “are you pretty good today? Oh no you are not pretty just good”!
He was always busy from working in the shop, sweeping in the parking lot, fixing equipment, repair roof leaks. The only thing he did not do was sit behind a desk!
Most of all knowing that he was there for everyone of us. The successful life he worked and made for his family never took above any one else.
