

He was born on August 2, 1942, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, the son of the late George Fletcher and Susie Pearl Jackson Wood. He served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was retired from the Army National Guard as well as the American Red Cross. He worked as an LPN for 23 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and tending to his yard. Jack was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Brian and Michael Wood.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Melody Wood; daughter, Kayla Dowker and her husband, D.A.; son, Izak Robertson and his wife, Kayla; three grandsons, Elijah Dowker, Brody and Luke Robertson; brother, Jimmy Wood and his wife, Patricia; faithful four-legged companion, Bixby, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Cooks Recreation Area, Group Shelter #1, located at 12230 Old Hickory Boulevard, Hermitage, Tennessee 37076, at Percy Priest Lake from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Mr. Wood's wife, Melody, will be covering the parking fee for all guests in attendance.
Military Honors will be held at 2:30 pm.
