Daddy Jim,Thank you for being a wonderful,husband,father,grandfather,and great grandfather.You will always forever be in our hearts,and will truly be missed.We love you !!!!!!!!!!!!

Memories of the many good days and years of Jim's life will help to heal -- I was probably closer to Jim Bilyeu than even my own brother.  We were friends and led similar lives starting when we were boys fishing the Falling Water river in Putnam County. We both attended Central High, both served in the U.S. Navy, both graduated from Tech in agriculture, and both helped farmers save their natural resources as Soil Conservation Service conservationists.  I branched off into public information in Nashville, and when I transferred, guess who took my place (and did a better job)? Jim and I worked together in SCS public information until we retired, then free-lanced information work. 
 Bettye and her lovely family have our hopes and prayers for a foundation of healing based on all the good memories of Jim's interesting, loving, and productive days.

Dear, Bettye, Steve, Beth and Joey:

I can't tell you how bad I feel concerning the loss of Jim. My dad thought all of you "hung the moon" and loved all of you. I can remember back when I was so young and Jim would ride that motorcycle of his. I don't know of anyone on dad's side of the family that he thought more of than Uncle Powell and his kids, grandchildren and all. Dad would often talk about Steve and how great a personality he had and how often he enjoyed seeing him. Jim was a great person and someone to be so proud of. He always had that smile and I don't know of anyone I enjoyed talking with more. He will be missed greatly but will also be waiting for his family to keep that 'circle' intact. We love you.

Hey, Bettye and family: I talked with you and Beth today. As I told you,I was his SCS counterpart in Temple, Texas and loved him like a brother. We have been dear friends since about 1969. He loved his family, our country, and its land, water, and wildlife resources. He,Claude Crowley,  "Mr. Larry" Sandifer, and I were thick as thieves.
Jim and I were both born in 1928. I think he would been 83 next week. I was 83 in December 28 of last year.
But he was better looking than I am...I tell people that I am not old...I just look old.
May God bless all of you and may he rest in peace. I am praying that God will give you peace through his Son, Jesus, who was the Prince of Peace.
