

JAMES WELDON "JIM" OAKLEY, age 71, of Nashville, departed this life after many years of fighting cancer and heart disease. Preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Mary Crawford Oakley; three brothers, Bill, Ed and Ronnie Oakley. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Beverly Fetzer Oakley; son, James Greg Oakley (Crystal); daughter, Kristy Oakley Elswick; granddaughters, Leslie Morgan Reaves and Mallory Sloan Reaves; grandson, Corbin Oakley Elswick; siblings, Charles Oakley (Elsie), Ramona Gossett (Sonny), Linda Arnold (Bill) and Helen Hager (Jerry); two sisters- in-law, Ann and Mary Oakley; numerous nieces, nephews, their spouses and children. Jim was employed at Ford Glass Plant for thirty-seven years. He served in the Air National Guard fourteen years. Most recently, he enjoyed working as a dealer trade driver for Beaman Automotive. Jim and Beverly have been active members at Lebanon Road Church of Christ forty- five years. Visitation will be from 1 - 3 and 4 - 8 pm Monday at Hermitage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at Lebanon Road Church of Christ with visitation one hour prior to the service. Jim's nephew, Gavin Gossett will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Jim's nephews, Barry, Rick, Mike, Jeff and Marty Oakley, Jeremy Gossett, Kip and Kyle Mayton.
