Janiet Georgetta Adams, 75 of Lebanon, TN passed away Sunday November 19, 2023. Janiet was born November 28, 1947 in St. Louis, MO. to Chester and Goldie Merritt. Soon after her birth, the family moved to Kennett, MO. where she spent her early years and graduated from Kennett High School.
Janiet met Roger in Kennett, MO on Friday October the 13th 1967, it was love at first sight. A month later he asked her to marry him on November 11th, they married on December 9th. They have lived in Nashville 7 different times because of job transfers. Janiet enjoyed spending time with her family especially during the holidays. She loved baking cookies with her grandchildren as well as making other homemade goodies. Some of her favorite hobbies included spending time at the beach, sewing, crafting and refinishing furniture. She loved being outside so much that she would sit outback on her patio with her tablet for hours just soaking up the sunshine and fresh air.
Janiet was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Goldie Merritt, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a daughter Stephanie.
Janiet is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Roger Adams, daughter, Melanie (Chris) West and Donna (Herb) Hall, a son Roger (Summer) Allen Adams, Jr, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, sisters, Mary (Jerald) Pickens and Joyce Frances.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday November 26, 2023 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at the Hermitage Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will begin at 4:00PM in the Tulip Grove room at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Nashville, Tn.
