Jennifer Gail Harris

Jennifer was born on August 29, 1969, in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from Donelson Christian School in 1988, she attended Volunteer State Community College while pursuing a career in retail management. As her career progressed, she held roles in state government, finance and the banking industries, ending her career as a Branch Manager for Southeast Financial Credit Union. Jennifer took great pride in her career accomplishments, but none of them were as important to her as the role of becoming a mother. She loved her children fiercely, and found immense joy in watching them grow and venture out into the world. Jennifer loved being surrounded by family and friends, often coordinating gatherings. Once she became a grandmother, she loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. Jennifer best quality was her open heart and loving spirit that touched everyone she met. She knew no stranger and made everyone feel welcome in her presence. Jennifer was kind, generous and always willing to lend a helping hand.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, George W. Butterworth, Jr., and mother-in-law June Harris. She is survived by her husband Bret; sons Kevin Harris, Keith (Sonel) Harris and Kaleb Harris; grandchildren Lilly, Wesley, Chloe, and a grandchild expected in early 2026; mother Linda Butterworth; father-in-law Jim Harris; sister Leigh (Chris) Sobczyk; brother-in-law Jason Harris; sister-in-law Joy (Brian) Mitchell; nephews Mason Mitchell and Connor Sobczyk, and niece Abby Mitchell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN, 37138, on Wednesday, July 30th, with a visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and share memories of Jennifer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the DCI Foundation Division in Jennifer’s memory.
