

He was born on July 30, 1935, in Chestnut Mound, Tennessee, the son of the late Charles Scott and Hattie Payne Fitzpatrick. Joe was a retired barber and owned Joe’s Barber Shop. He was in the United States Army in Korea before joining the United States Navy where he made lifelong friends and served honorably in both. Joe was loved by many and his legacy will be the gift of laughter, even through the tears of those who loved him most.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carlene Fitzpatrick, brother, Charles M. Fitzpatrick, and sister, Dot Allison.
He is survived by daughers, JoAnn (Gregory “Buddy”) Brent, and Joy (Bobby “Wally”) Gray; grandson, Joey Brent; granddaughters, Holly (Douglas) Cammuse, Katelyn (Cullen) McPeak, and Hannah Gray; great grandchildren, Eli and Haddie Brent, Carson Cammuse, and Brooklyn McPeak; sister, Jean Apple, and brother Jack Fitzpatrick.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Hermitage Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm, and also on Sunday, June 25, 2017 one hour prior to the service.
The Celebration of Life Service will be on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Hermitage Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Nephew Terry Fitzpatrick officiating.
Interment and military honors will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
