John R. McCormack

McCormack, John R., age 78, of Hermitage, went to be with the Lord August 8, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bettie McCormack; children, Karen Rainey, Michael McCormack and Larry McCormack, all of Hermitage; four grandchildren, Jill Thompson, Alicia Rainey, Mandy Rainey and Steven McCormack; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom McCormack and two sisters, Barbara Shoulders and Edna Shoulders. He is preceded in death by brother, James McCormack and two sisters Roxie Alley and Ada Stubblefield. Mr. McCormack served in the Navy from 1951-54 and later worked at Eastern Airlines in Nashville for 35 years. He most recently owned and operated Bettie’s Bookstore in Lebanon, Tn. He is a member of the Old Hickory Church of Christ. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug 10, 2010 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 4-8 on Monday, Aug 9 and one hour prior to the service Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to Alive Hospice, Inc., 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
