Junior Fox, 81, of Old Hickory, Tennessee passed from this life on Friday, May 5, 2023 at home. He was born June 11, 1941 in Gainesboro Tennessee, and was the son of the late William Oakley Fox and the late Mattie Tennessee (Billingsley) Fox.
Junior was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. He was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed.
Junior is survived by his devoted wife Ora Flatt Fox, his loving son Mitchell (Monica) Fox, grandchildren Shelby (Branton) Phillips, Hayden Fox, Carolanne Fox and (Johnny Williams) Autumn Hopkins, Amber (Josh) Byrd and his beloved great-grandchild Everett Oakley Phillips, sister Evelyn (Harold) Flatt, sister-in-law Willene Fox and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, Aaron, Collie, Houston, and JC Fox, and two sisters, Mazola Anderson and Esteen Flatt.
Funeral Service for Junior Fox will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Hermitage Memorial Gardens. David Fox will officiate. Interment will be in Hermitage Memorial Gardens with members of the family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 and 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday with service following at noon. The family invites those coming to pay their respects to wear their best Tennessee Vols Orange and Lady Vols Blue in honor of Junior.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the quality of care given to Junior in his final months. We will forever be grateful for all of you.
