David, Jonathan and I want to tell you how sorry we are for your loss. Dodson was a friend and co-worker at McKendree for many years. I can still see him eating crackers and drinking milk in the break room. He always got there early to make coffee for us even though he did not drink it himself.He would put in a pinch of salt before he brewed it because he said it made it better. One summer Heidi kept Jonathan for us and Dodson took him fishing-he will never forget that. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dodson will remain one of many good memories from my 13 years on staff with him at McKendree Village. Rest in peace,dear friend.

I worked with Dodson for many years @ McKendree Village - we shared a lot of good times and even the same birthday I always teased him that he was way older than I was.  I will truly miss him.  Remember that our loved ones are never far from us - when we keep them in our heart.  May God Bless each and everyone of you.

I worked with Dodson from 1981 - 1987 at McKendree and have kept up with him via my fellow social workers, with whom I still get together.   I am glad that our McKendree family got to have a couple of reunions a few years back, and I got to see him at that time.  My daughter was born while I was at McKendree, and one of the memories that I share with her is how Dodson promised to buy her going home outfit if she was born on his birthday.  Well, she was born on his birthday, and I could not wait to call him--- he kept his promise.  I still have the outfit and always think of Dodson when I go through the trunk of clothes and see it.    Dodson will always have a place in my heart.    I remember so well how Dodson loved his kids and his grandkids--my thoughts and prayers are with all the family.

My sincerest condolences to family and friends. Harold Ermshar, Dodson (we called him by his last name) and I used to play golf after work when we all worked at McKendree Village. I best not share all the crazy things we talked about or said to each other - all in good fun -, but I can tell you I've never met anyone who could find a lost golf ball easier and more quickly than he could. I played golf because I enjoyed the outdoors and being with my friends, not because I was any good at the sport; so Dodson had lots of opportunities to find my stray shots. Fact is, he always found more than just mine in the woods; so I routinely went home with more golf balls than I started with. Anyway, I have always felt privileged to be his friend. I'll miss him, but he'll always be the first person I think about every time I go into the woods looking for a stray golf ball.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
