LC was an Old Hickory native, born in 1927 to Lawrence Casper Knies, Sr. and Ora Zimmerman Knies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 48 years, Mrs. Ruth Draper Knies.
L. C. leaves a loving family to forever cherish his memory; his children, Donna (Roger) King, Eugene Knies, Dean (Pam) Knies, Patricia (Paul) Green, Pamela (Bobby) Coffman, Linda (David) Rizor and Deborah (Kevin) Ray; siblings, Don (Ruby) Knies and Jack (Lavon) Knies; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Hermitage Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Hermitage Funeral Home with visitation preceding from 9-11a.m.
Interment with Military Honors will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Ray, Matthew Ray, Brent Higdon, Nathan Higdon, Josh King and Paul Green.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alive Hospice.
