Margaret Dianne McCampbell, a beloved daughter, partner, sister, aunt, and friend whose spirit was far larger than her stature, passed away peacefully on 02/12/2026. Though she stood just shy of five feet tall, no one who knew her would ever call her small. Her personality, laughter, and love filled every room she entered.
Dianne shared her life with her devoted partner, Cheryl. Their 42 years together were a quiet, steady example of devotion, loyalty and true companionship; unwavering in every season of life. They were joined at the hip, where you saw one, you saw the other. Theirs was a love built on kindness, shared daily adventures, & a tender heart for any animal in need – adopting as many furry children as they could give a safe, happy, home to.
Dianne spent most of her life as a talented hairdresser, caring for her clients with skilled hands and an open heart. She was known in the salon and beyond as a true firecracker—witty, unafraid to speak her mind, and always ready to stand up for the people she loved. “Don’t let her size fool you” was something often said about her and she was proof that strength and spirit have nothing to do with one’s stature.
Dianne will be remembered for her bold heart, her generous nature, and the way she loved without limits. She believed deeply that family isn’t always blood. Throughout her life she collected friends wherever she went, and those friends became her chosen family. Her front door, and her heart were always open. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved, and many were blessed to call her family even without sharing her blood.
She is survived by her loving partner, Cheryl Eller, Brother Allen McCampbell, her many nieces and nephews; and countless friends who were blessed to know her warmth and humor. To all of them she was more than an aunt—she was a second mother, a confidant, a friend, and a constant source of laughter and encouragement.
The world feels a little quieter without her, but her voice, her stories, and her fierce love will live on in all who were fortunate enough to call her family.
A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Safe Place for Animals in Galatin, Tennessee honoring her lifelong love of animals.
