Paul Smith was born on April 14, 1930 in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended public schools
and served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean conflict. He was married to the love of
his life, Loretta Ann (Hooper) Smith, in 1954, and they were married for 66 years until her
passing in March 2020. Paul worked in the printing industry for his entire work life, after which
he volunteered at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage for 20 years. He and Loretta were
actively involved with their church family and service at Lebanon Road Church of Christ in
Donelson. Together, they loved to travel.
Paul Smith is survived by two sons Doug Smith, his spouse Jutta, and their sons, David and
Markus, of Woodbridge, Virginia; and Rick Smith of Nashville and his son, Maxwell, of San
Francisco, California.
The visitation will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home on Sunday, February 13, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Monday from 10 am till service. Funeral service is Monday, February 14, 2022, at 11:00 am with JD Buckner officiating. Interment to follow in the Garden of Gethsemane at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
