Robert Jasper Baxter, age 84 of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, passed away May 5, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonie Filmore and Myrtle Lake Baxter; brother, Clyde Baxter; sisters, Martha Jane Stack, Mary Louise Pratt, Julia Cavanaugh and Juanita Elgin.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria Cooley Baxter; sons, Michael Wayne Baxter (Marlene), Phillip Jay Baxter (Deborah); daughter, Patricia Anne Strickland (Walter); sister, Joyce Ann Dickerson; grandchildren, Karen Wright, Phillip Thomas Baxter, Alicia Lampkin, Lauren Strickland and Matthew Strickland; and 5 great-grandchildren, Kymberlee, Kaleb, Arriana, LillieAnn, Nicolette.
Robert worked as an account manager and retired from General Mills, Inc.
Bob was a longtime member of Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church, and he attended Immanuel Baptist church in his later years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, Tennessee with Walter Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens with family & friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 10, 2018, and on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
