

He was born July 4, 1956 in Charleston, SC and grew up in Jacksonville, FL. He made his home in Nashville and worked as an accomplished pastry chef. In 1988 his lemon tart won the Best Dessert of Nashville recognition. His family also enjoyed his cooking, especially his apple dumplings.
Steve loved watching sports especially the Atlanta Braves, Florida Gators, and Nascar. He also loved classic rock, bowling, coin collecting, and caring for his many dogs.
Most importantly, he will be remembered as a loving Husband and Father. He coached T-ball and was a Scout leader, and was always there to support his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty -one years Anita Reed; children Elliot Burnette and Jason Sanders; grandchildren Bailey Sanders, Lane Sanders, Abby Sanders, and Mattie Sanders; sisters Sandi (Ed) Fiveash, Linda Roberts; brother Max Burnette and many nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
Mr. Burnette is preceded in death by his Mother and Stepfather JoAnn and Billy Boyer, and father Alfred Burnette.
There will be a gathering of family and friends April 28th from 4:00-8:00pm at Hermitage Funeral Home and on April 29th from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00pm on April 29th, also at Hermitage Funeral Home.
