Sue I just saw this and I'm so sorry for your loss. He must have passed just shortly after you and I spoke at Krogers awhile back. You have my deepest sympathy sweetheart.

I remember meeting Steve at Opryland and he was this huge presence that was just so amazing to be around and get to know and love.  I will miss him greatly.  Miles knew him from way back yonder... I got to know Steve while I was working the Opry with Jimmy C. Newman. Then I had the pleasure of doing a video with him that featured Grant Turner & Paul Richie for Alcoholics Anonymous. We even went to Baltimore Maryland for a similar event. He was a great musician and person. God bless him.

My dad (Bonny Beverley) recorded quite a few things with Steve and wanted to pass on his deepest sympathy to the family. Dad went back to when Steve was with Don Reno and Red Smiley in the 60's.

I'm so sorry to hear of Steve's passing.  My late husband, Larry Fullam, worked with Steve in Bill Anderson's band, the Po' Boys, many years ago.  My condolences to Steve's family and friends.

So sorry for the loss of Steve. We met him when he came to work with E. T. and have played many shows together. He is a great musician and a good friend. Our prayers, thoughts and condolences go to Sue and his children and other family member. He can join up with Bud Charleton and E.T. again. He sure will be missed and may he rest in peace. His ole musical friends, Leslie and Ron Elliott.

I met Steve in Charlotte, NC.  We did a session at Reflection Sound and he was a great player and a super person.  I will always cherish the memories and the music we made.  God bless his family during this time.

I am sorry for your loss. I am originally from Roanoke and was also on Top of the morning in 1963. Stevie played guitar on 3 songs that I did in Ronnie Cochran's studio around 1985.  He was so talented and sweet.  I didn't find out until recently about his illness.  Please know that you and your family are in my prayers.

I am so sorry for your lost. My Prayers are with you during this time of lost. May God be with you and the family. I had not seen or heard from Steve in years, BUT I thought about him at times.  I know as a little girl and Steve was on the Top of the Morning show here in Roanoke I would get up to listen to the show and see Steve every morning. The ONE thing I always looked forward to was him singing a special song for me "especially on my birthday". The song was Running Bear. Was my favorite and STILL is. Everytime I hear the song I always think of Steve. Peggy my heart and thoughts are with you and prayers for you and all the family.    Love Barb
