William A. Spain

William A. Spain, age 76, of Old Hickory, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. He was born on March 10, 1946, in Nashville, TN to his parents Alton and Elizabeth Hall Spain who preceded him in death.

William was a retired 42-year employee for Metro Nashville Public Works and retired with 20 years of service in the Army National Guard. William was a loving and hardworking man. He loved his family. He did everything to help anyone. He especially loved going to Florida to visit his fishing buddies. He never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

William is survived by his loving wife Sandra; by his daughters Dafney Fudge and Tracy (Scott) Northcutt; by his son Toby (Teresa) Spain; by his grandchildren Jon Fudge III, Devan Fudge, Aaron Marks, and Allie Spain; by his great-grandchildren Ashton Estes, Hardison Phillips and Penelope Phillips; by his sisters Alice Davison and Susan Gambrell; by his brother Harry (Cindii) Spain; and by his dog & faithful companion Fast Eddie.

There will be a visitation for William on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Toby Spain, Aaron Spain, Scott Northcutt, Jon Fudge III, Patrick Gambrell, and Tom Gambrell will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
