Daniel Mario Pennella

Daniel was born November 23, 1928, in New London, CT to Donato and Angelina (Avallone) Pennella. After graduating from Chapman Technical High School, Daniel was a trusted and respected employee of Northeast Utilities for 46 years.

He was a devout member of Christ the King Church in Old Lyme for over 40 years, where he was a member of the Men’s Club.

Dan will be remembered for his tremendous work ethic, and for his unconditional love of his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Pennella (Leander), his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Brian Steady, stepdaughter Kristen Morrison, and stepson Eric Leander, and daughter-in-law Lynne Pennella (Bland). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Tracey, Charles, Joseph, and Anthony Steady, Danielle and Matthew Pennella, Emily and Abby Morrison, Amanda Swart, Samantha Delmas, Andrevia and Vetrell Chadwick, Johnais and John Pennella, Jr.

He was predeceased by his first wife Joan Pennella (McNickle), his son, John Daniel Pennella, his sisters Mary Hutchinson, and Glory West, and infant sister Aurora Pennella.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 400 Main St, Niantic, CT, Friday, July 7, 2017 at 4 pm.
