Denise Huntington Firgelewski

Denise was born on April 26, 1952, in Boston, the daughter of Forest E. Hayden, Jr. and Bertha H. Hayden. She married William Joesph Firgelewski on October 11, 1986, in the Old Lyme Congregational Church. She graduated from LOLHS, the class of 1970, and later attended Thames Valley Nursing School where she received her degree as an LPN. Denise was employed by L&M, then by Saybrook Convalescent Hospital in Old Saybrook. Denise retired from nursing to raise her family. She was a beloved scout leader and sunday school teacher. She was a proud member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Lyme Fire Company. She was the mother of 5 children and chose to raise two other children. She loved camping and traveling, especially to Amish Country. She will always be loved and missed by her children, mother, and husband. Denise is survived by her husband William of 28 years, mother Bertha Hayden, brother Denland Hayden, and 7 children, Ruth (husband Richard Baxter), William, Rebecca, Joshua, Alison (fiancé Curtis Sirico), Nancy and Dan Howarth. Grandchildren, Katelyn and David Sturgell, Lexie Howarth.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Old Lyme Congrational Church 11 am. Interment will follow at Eight Mile River Cemetery, Lyme.
