Erwin E. Dill

Erv proudly served in the US Army during WWll: he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Machnik Bros. of Old Lyme for many years. Erv was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, gardening and building birdhouses. He was also a Boston Red Sox and UCONN women’s basketball fan, but truly a farmer at heart.

Erv leaves his loving wife of 67 years, Jean (O’Conner) Dill of Lyme, his brother & sister in law Fred & Barbara Dill of East Haddam. Also his son & daughter in law Roger & Betsy Dill of Lyme, his daughter & daughter in law Karen & Kim Leach of Fitchburg, MA. Also 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Dill of Lyme & Kathryn Murdock of Fitchburg, MA, a great grandson Ethan Kelly of Fitchburg, MA along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, David B Dill, Robert T. Dill, and 4 brothers, William, Gustave, Herman and John and his sisters, Helen Savitsky and Adeline Dill.

There will be calling hours on Sunday, November 5, at Fulton Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Lane, Old Lyme, CT from 4—6 PM with a brief service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lyme Ambulance, P0 Box 911, Hadlyme, CT 06439.
