Fay Robinson

She is survived by the five children she so lovingly raised on her own, and four grandchildren, her son, Jack Robinson of Old Lyme, daughter Fay Wilkman and son-in-law Mark Wilkman with their daughter Alison and Abbey, all of Old Lyme, daughter Janet Robinson and son-in-law Gary DeCavage of Southington, daughter Nancy Patterson and son-in-law Mark Patterson with their children Mark and Jessica, all of Uncasville and son Robert Robinson and daughter-in-love Lori Cirillo of Lebanon.

In addition to her children, she is also survived by two siblings, her sister Ida Shutsky of Old Lyme and brother Robert Shutsky of Preston. She was preceded in death by her brother Jacob Shutsky.

She was first and fore most a dedicated, wonderful homemaker with a warm heart. The doors of her household, where she had resided for the past 51 years; were always open to any neighborhood children. Everyone knew that they would always be welcome at Mrs. Robinson’s house.

Her hobbies included gardening, with her two green thumbs she could make nearly anything grow. Every available window of her house was and is filled with plants. She also loved dancing. Polka was a favorite and she did German Folk dancing with a group.

She transferred her love of children into an occupation by babysitting. With her warmth and caring nature she made all of the children she cared for her own.

More than anything she made the world a better place by being a truly caring, giving and loving person. She was and is sincerely loved by her family and will be sorely missed.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 26, 2011 at 10 AM at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Lane, Old Lyme. Calling hours will be held on Monday April 25, 2011 from 5-8 and Tuesday from 9 to 10 AM preceding the funeral service. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich.
