Born in Toledo, Ohio March 9, 1936, Jim’s family settled in Bellefontaine, Ohio where he graduated high school in 1954. Jim excelled at tennis, played clarinet in the band, and developed a life-long love of big band jazz music.

In retirement, Jim enjoyed playing tennis at the Old Saybrook Racquet Club, working on the Becky Thatcher, maintaining his antique model trains, and playing clarinet and saxophone in local bands. After his wife died, he took up gardening.
