JoAnne P. Guerrera

She was born on February 8, 1929, in Holyoke, MA, the daughter of Harold and Mary Prentiss.

She graduated Holyoke High School in Holyoke, MA and entered nursing training at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA. Upon graduation she began her career as a Registered Nurse at Northampton Hospital. She also worked as a nurse at Shriner's Hospital in Springfield and then worked as a private duty nurse at both Holyoke and Springfield Hospitals.

JoAnne and Richard were married on August 30, 1951. They enjoyed traveling, sailing and spending time with family and friends in both Old Lyme and Naples, FL.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters Mary P. Guerrera, MD, of Farmington and Arlene Mullaney and her husband Joseph of Salem, MA; and her grandson Matthew Mullaney. She was predeceased by her sister Eleanore Price.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday September 3rd at 10:30am in Christ The King Church, McCurdy Rd., Old Lyme. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the JoAnne P. Guerrera Memorial Scholarship, c/o UCONN Foundation, UCONN Health Center, 10 Talcott Notch Rd., Suite 100, Farmington, CT 06032, a scholarship established to support medical students at UCONN School of Medicine, for education activities regarding Complementary and Integrative Medicine.
