To know her was to know love.
Alysia Lurvey entered eternal rest on June 21, 2025, embraced by the love of her family and her faith. Born December 16, 1963, in Meriden, daughter of Ann and Arthur Lurvey, the youngest of three children, and the sister of Arthur Jr. and Ann-Marie Lurvey.
Alysia is survived by her four beloved children: Meghan Short (son-in-law Robert), Amanda Brescio (son-in-law John), Francesca Lurvey, and Joshua Lurvey. She now watches over them, just as she always did in life — with unwavering love and grace. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Joshua Lurvey Jr., Liam, Zoey, Penny, and Toby Short, her nephew Andrew Lurvey and sister-in-law Susan Lurvey.
Alysia was a guiding light to many, especially Erika Clements, whom she loved as one of her own. Everyone held a special place in her heart, including her grand puppies Agador Spartacus & Chipster.
Her life was defined by compassion, devotion, and faith. As a single mother, Alysia never missed a moment — whether it was a game, concert, or program. Her children were her everything, and she raised them with empathy, strength, and joy. Her heart was too big to be confined to this world alone — and now lives on in all the lives she touched.
A devoted follower of Christ, Alysia led her church’s children’s ministry and loved teaching lessons that brought joy and understanding to young hearts. She lived her faith daily, walking with grace and purpose.
She found peace in God’s creations, especially birds. Alysia delighted in feeding them and learning about all the various species, always finding beauty in the smallest moments.
Her laughter, kindness, and unwavering love are deeply missed. Alysia was truly an angel on Earth and now watches over us from above.
“We love you and miss you, Mom.
Put in a good word for us… until we’re together again.”
— With all our love,
Meghan, Amanda, Francesca, and Joshua
