

Engborg- Barbara Wallin Engborg, 80 of Old Saybrook, died Sunday March 25, 2012 in Essex. Barbara was born June 23, 1931 in Detroit Michigan daughter of the late Nellie Marie Woolsey and Harold Edward Wallin. She was a resident of Old Greenwich from 1943-1991 before moving to Old Saybrook. She married Nelson E. Engborg on May 22, 1954. Barbara worked as a secretary at Barnes Engineering in Stamford. From 1965 to 1991, she and her husband attended St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Alter Guild, Woman’s Auxiliary, sang in the church choir, and served the church in a variety of capacities, including being the editor of The Tidings, the parish newsletter. Barbara loved to sing and was a member of St. Cecelia Choral Society, and a member of Connecticut Playmakers from 1951-1954. She was a loving wife and mother and she will be missed terribly. She is survived by her husband Nelson E. Engborg of Old Saybrook, her daughter, Christine Engborg of Stamford, her son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Roseann Engborg of Cary, NC, and her two beloved pugs, Dora and Fancie. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday March 29, 2012, 1 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home 1224 Boston Post Road Old Saybrook.
