

Catherine M. Linde, 85, of Ebony Ln, Ivoryton, CT passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025. Catherine was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 5, 1939. She was the daughter of Howard and Catherine Brinkerhoff. Catherine grew up in Oceanside, NY.
She was a lover of music and learned to play the violin. She was the lead singer of a musical group known as “The Forevers” and produced a record which led them to being invited to perform on American Bandstand. Catherine met the love of her life, Richard, while visiting her brother, who was a war veteran. Richard was recovering at the same hospital, St. Albans. Richard and Catherine then married and moved to Connecticut where they raised three daughters. Catherine was the bookkeeper for their piano business for many years and worked in various banking positions.
Catherine lost her husband, Richard, at a young age and later made a new life for herself, becoming very involved with her church. She took the roll of Church Office Administrator, she also was a Deacon and a Stephen Minister as well as a member of the choir. She was very spiritual and had a deep faith in God.
Catherine enjoyed visiting with her family. She enjoyed traveling and cruises and was on the dance floor for any event. She was also a huge fan of the Celtics and Eagles.
Above all, catherine loved her family and her dog, Lexi. She was strong, courageous, witty, and fun. She will be missed by so many.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Marsh and Mary Linde. She leaves her sister Patricia Macko (Jim) and was predeceased by her husband Richard and her daughter Kelly as well as her brother Howard and sister Theresa. She also leaves behind two grandsons, Eric Marsh and Christopher Marsh (Laura) and two great-grandchildren, Johnny and Gracie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The one message she always relayed was to always be kind to each other because you never know what burdens other people are carrying.

A funeral for Catherine will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 10am at the Westbrook Congregational Church, located at 1166 Boston Post Road, Westbrook, CT with a graveside service to follow.
