

Henry R. Malinowski died on December 3, 2011, age 78, at Middlesex Hospital. His wife Jean, sons, John and Paul and a special pal, Jonathan spent their last hours with Henry comforting him with their presence. Henry was born in New Britain, son of the late Joseph Malinowski and mother, Mary (Ciepiel) Malinowski. He attended local New Britain schools, graduating from New Britain High School in 1951 and from the University Of Connecticut School Of Pharmacy in 1956. Henry served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. After serving in the Army, he worked at Zackin pharmacy in New Britain owned by Ralph and Saul Zackin. Henry and Jean bought Zackin pharmacy and closed the pharmacy when Henry retired. Henry is survived by his wife, Jean (Agostini), sons, John and wife Gina, Paul and wife Karen; two loving sisters, Clara Gacek and Ceil Popovich and a special niece Susan Smialowski. He also leaves three grandchildren Amanda Rose Malinowski, Summer Marie Malinowski and Vincent Malinowski.
Henry was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Lucian and Stanley Malinowski and a grandson, Brett Malinowski who loved "poppa.” He also leaves behind many Malinowski and Agostini nephews and nieces and their families.
Family and friends may visit the swan funeral home 1224 Boston post rd., old Saybrook, on Friday December 9 from 8 to 9:30am. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00am at St. John RC Church in Old Saybrook. Burial will follow in Cypress Cemetery.
