

James Wallace Cahill, 73, passed away on February 12. 2025 after a lengthy illness. James was born on March 7, 1951 in Middletown, CT to the late Wallace Charles Cahill and Gloria (Fitzgerald) Cahill. Being a lifelong resident of Old Saybrook, Jimmy was deeply involved in the community. From young age, being a catcher on the local little league team, to his teen years, working as a camp counselor, playing soccer, basketball, and baseball, and acting as Senior class President. After graduating high school in town, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree at Providence College.
He was a man of many talents, both professionally and in his personal life. He worked as a courier, a home builder, and later as the President of the Cypress Cemetery Association. He was also regarded as the family historian, tracing family lines through cemetery records all though out the state. Jimmy was also an outdoorsman, having been an avid skier and Vermonter.
James was, above all else, a son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, brother-in-law, husband, classmate, fellow worker, and friend. He was a man of many titles and held close in many hearts.

James will be interred in his family plot at Cypress Cemetery in Old Saybrook, CT. Services will be private.
