Joanne Marie Bauer, 59, of Old Saybrook, died on January 13, 2013. She was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad on April 4, 1953, daughter of the late Joseph A. Bauer and Rose (Bagnati) Bauer.
Her sister, Beverly Moshier and her husband Frank; her sister Linda Tarpill and her husband Mark; and six nieces and nephews, Annie, Emily, and Ben Moshier and Laura, Bryan, and Matthew Tarpill survive her.
She was a 1971 graduate of Mercy High School and worked for many years at Pettipaug Manor and Pat’s Kountry Kitchen. For many years Joanne was an EMT on the Old Saybrook Ambulance Association. She was an avid knitter and known for her Scandinavian sweaters.
Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd. Old Saybrook Thursday January 17, from 5 to 7. Interment will be private.
