

Rutigliano-Joseph J. Rutigliano, Sr. died peacefully on November 22, 2011, at age 97. Originally from Groton, born October 22, 1914, he was a resident of Old Saybrook for over sixty years. He leaves his son and daughter in law, Joe and Jeanne Rutigliano of Lyme, four grandchildren, Juliet, Joanna, Jenna and Joseph Rutigliano. He was predeceased by his wife, Eunice, his son Jack; sister Angela Izzo and brother Bart Rutigliano. Joe was living at home and active until his death. Recognized by his Red Sox baseball cap, you could always find Joe at Pat’s Kountry Kitchen surrounded by friends and fans. He was an avid Red Sox fan and was devoted to the UCONN Women’s Basketball team. He worked in the foundry at Electric Boat during WWII and later became a foreman at UARCO in Deep River where he worked until his retirement in the 70”s. He loved to golf, fish and owned several pleasure boats over the years. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed life in his uncomplicated, down-to-earth way. Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook will be private.
