Kathleen Monica Forbes

Kathleen Monica Forbes, age 93 passed away Saturday, (February 23, 2013) at Ct Hospice in Branford. Beloved wife of the late Lylan Forbes. Mrs. Forbes was born in Bagie San Catherine Jamaica, on September 7, 1919. Daughter of the late Adolphus and Arabella (Thomas) Smith. Mrs. Forbes worked as a cook at MT St. John School in Deep River for over 20 years. She was also a hairdresser and caregiver to many families on the shoreline. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by her daughter Dahlia Forbes of Deep River, and a son Lionel Forbes of Jamaica. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Rasmanii Stephenson, Shobal Stephenson, Rachel D'Lizarraga and Ethan Waite, and two great grandchildren: Elijah and Genesis.

Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd. Old Saybrook Saturday March 9th, from 6- 8 p.m. Services will be held Sunday March 10th, at the MT. Olive Seventh day Adventist Church, on Coleman St. New London with calling hours starting at 11 a.m. with services starting at 12 p.m. Interment will be at a later date in Fountain Hill Cemetery, Deep River.
