

Kingmon B. Snow, of Old Saybrook, died on December 19, 2014, in Middletown. He was born on January 13, 1927, in Flint, MI, the son of Kingman and Helen (Childs) Snow. Mr. Snow spend his childhood in New London, was a graduate of Kimball Union Academy and Northrop Aeronautical Institute, and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force. He met Ellie, his wife of 62 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft where they both worked. King loved sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, along with the beach, fishing, gardening, bowling and tennis. Feeding the seagulls at the beach was also a favorite pastime. He was a coach of the P.A.L Baseball League and the Pop Warner Football League. Kingmon was also instrumental in starting the local semi-pro team the Saybrook Tides and was an original supporter of the Old Saybrook High School football program. He was a volunteer at the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks where he helped to refurbish an A-26 Bomber. King also served on the Old Saybrook Architectural Review Commission, The Cable TV Advisory Council of Old Saybrook and was an Explorer Scout Leader. Mr. Snow had been a member of the Elks, Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary. He also had careers in real estate and as a lighting consultant.
Mr. Snow is survived by his wife Elynor; children Sharon Kennedy and her husband Kevin of Old Saybrook, David Snow and his wife Lisa of Blythewood, SC, and Gregory Snow of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren Valarie, Daniel, and Ryan Kennedy, Krystal Snow-Bourne, Mark, Amanda, Sabrina, and Michael Snow; great granddaughter Miranda Lyn Bourne; sister Karen Brown and her husband Parke; and sister-in-law Sandy Snow of Stonington. He was predeceased by his brother Mahlon “Jerry” Snow.
Calling hours will be held on Friday January 9th from 4-6pm at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 10th at 11:00 am. at the First Congregational Church of Westbrook, 1166 Boston Post Rd., Westbrook.
