

Mary O'Malley Duchemin 84, of Old Saybrook, formerly of West Hartford, Ct. passed away at the Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit on Friday evening August 27th. She was the cherished wife of Roland E Duchemin (predeceased). Born on August 6, 1926 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, Mary was the daughter of Margaret (King) and Valentine O'Malley. She is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Michelle DuChemin with whom she shared a home. She leaves her most cherished grandsons, Michael, who resides in Boston, and Paul of Old Saybrook, Ct. Mary, in her early career was a telephone operator with the Southern New England Telephone Co and retired from the Aetna Life Insurance Co, where she held a position as a Pension Analyst in their Actuary Department. The DuChemin family would like to thank the McKone family for their support and love over the years, Mary’s' friends at Robins' Den Adult Daycare Center, The Estuary Transit Bus Co. Drivers, The CT Agency on Aging, The Community VNA, Shoreline Family Physicians’, Middlesex Hospital and Hospice Unit. Her many caregivers, especially Gloria Tinnerella, Jerry, Loraine, Sandy and Pat Wilcox who all made it feasible for Mary to remain home with her family. A graveside service will be held on Tues.
